The Bronze Cross of Merit with Swords medal. (Polish: Krzyz Zaslugi z Mieczami.) The medal was established by the Polish Government abroad on 19 October 1942. It was awarded for deeds of bravery and valour not connected with direct combat, or for action in perilous circumstances.
Ribbon: Maroon with two sky blue stripes along the edges.

Badge worn on the front of the tam-o'-shanter by the Lorne Scots (Peel, Dufferin and Halton Regiment). The primrose hackle was bestowed on the Lorne Scots for custodianship by the Lancashire Fusiliers who had been amalgamated into a larger unit in the 1960s.
A detachment of the Lorne Scots acted as adminstrators of Tweedsmuir Camp from 10 December 1941 to 22 February 1947.

Patch of the 22 Artillery Supply Company, II Corps, Polish Army. (Polish: 22 Kompania Zaopatrywania Artylerii). The image is that of Wojtek, the "soldier bear" who was adopted by the Polish II Corps in Persia in 1942, and formally enlisted into the Polish Army as a private.
It is alleged that the bear took part in the Battle for Monte Cassino where he helped to carry ammunition. He enjoyed a cigarette and a cool bottle of beer.
Wojtek died in Edinburgh Zoo on 2 December 1963.
