Poland Writes! ... Polska Pisze! ...

We appreciate the special effort our readers in Poland have made to write to us in English.
The text on the image reads: "We shall write as every day leaves traces of reminiscence."

Zapraszamy e-maily z Polski.

Zbigniew Dziegielewski has written ...

In English

Zbigniew Dziegielewski's grandfather, Antoni, died in No. 6 Polish Hospital, Diddington and was buried in St Lawrence church cemetery in 1947. We have written a brief biography of Antoni Dziegielewski, which you can read by accessing the Gura and Dziegielwski link in the right hand column.
When Zbigniew read about his grandfather on our website, he decided to write to us.
My name is Zbigniew Dziegielewski,
I live in Poland and I am the grandson of Anthony Dziegielewski, who died in a hospital in Didington in 1946 and is buried in the local cemetery.
I am very happy because thanks to your website I have finally found out that my grandfather's grave exists and is well cared for. Unfortunately, I have little information about my grandfather and only a few souvenirs.
Best wishes!
Z. Dziegielewski
Zbigniew Dziegielewski has since replied in Polish (Zbigniew Dziegielewski odpisał nie dawno po Polsku)
We are grateful to Zbigniew Dziegielewski for taking the time to write to us again - this time in Polish. You can read what he has to say by linking with the button to the right. There you will also be able to read a translation of his e-mail. (Note: This link is saved as a PDF file.)
Zbigniew Dziegielewski has kindly given us permission to post his e-mail address (included in the above link) on our website, writing:
"Może żyją jeszcze ludzie, którzy pamiętają mojego dziadka?"
("Maybe there are people still alive who remember my grandfather.")
